Walls, floors and framing

Batt insulation

Fiberglass batts cut and fitted into open walls, floors and framing. A good choice for new builds, additions, garage conversions and any wall that's open during a remodel.

How it works

Fitted right, not just stuffed in

Batts only perform at their rated R-value when they fill the cavity completely. Gaps, compressed spots and voids around wiring and outlets let heat through.

We cut each batt to fit around boxes, pipes and wiring and keep it in full contact with every side of the cavity, without squashing it.

Batts need open framing. If your walls are already finished, we'll talk through what's possible during the inspection.

What we install

The right batt for each spot

Your quote lists the exact R-value for each area.

  • 2x4 walls

    R-13 or R-15 batts.

  • 2x6 walls

    R-19 or R-21 batts.

  • Floors over garages

Batts sized to the joist depth and supported so they stay tight to the subfloor.

  • Knee walls

Batts plus an air barrier on the attic side, so hot attic air can't wash through.

  • Faced or unfaced

Kraft-faced or unfaced, based on where it goes and your local code.

  • Sound control

Unfaced batts in interior walls around bedrooms, bathrooms and media rooms.

FAQ

Questions about batt insulation

Don't see yours? Call (940) 245-6139 and ask us directly.

Can you add batts to finished walls?

Not without opening the wall. If your walls are finished, we'll go over other options during the inspection.

Faced or unfaced?

Faced batts have a kraft paper facing on one side that acts as a vapor retarder. Unfaced batts are used in interior walls for sound and where a facing isn't wanted. We follow your local code on which goes where.

How long does it take?

Single rooms and additions are often done in one visit. Whole new homes take longer. Your quote lists the schedule.
